0.1 Abriendo diálogos. Una mirada entre la Etnohistoria y la Arqueología del área centro-sur de Chile:Asentamiento de la zona Mapuche.

Abstract:
Information from printed historical sources of the XVI century of the area now inhabited by mapuche communities, was systematized, with special regard to settlement descriptions. Data allows to infer possible categories and characteristics of this unit of analysis in the area. These are enhanced by actual archaeological information. The work gives a view of settlements described in history and documented by archaeology, by considering both sources together. It is suggested that they can orient archaeological research in southern Chile, and contribute to the use of interdisciplinary views, which have been successful in other areas of the country.
